Summary

I am a Technical Designer by training and vocation. I live and breathe both as an engineer and a traditional designer. I can code and script, as well as support the creation of UX and UI. After both a Bachelor and Post-graduate degree in Digital Humanities, I obtained a Ph.D. in Emerging Digital Technologies, where I focused on understanding users’ expectations and interactions in unknown environments.

After that, I moved to the industry, where I worked as Technical Designer and UI Programmer ever since!

Career

Technical Designer & UI Programmer – Gunzilla Games

  • Optimise existing HUD to reduce performance costs and reduce draw calls
  • Develop a new, polished version of the in-game HUD
  • Create new HUD workflows for additional game modes

 

Technical Designer & UI Programmer – Directive Games

  • Expand a custom-built UI system (Both C++ and Blueprints)
    • In charge of implementing the UI of two different games (The Machines Arena, Civitas) for PC and Mobile
  • UX design and UI implementation for an undisclosed B2B Project
  • Controller and Keyboard interaction design and Implementation
  • Advocate for Inclusive and Accessible design (Represented the company at the GAConf in London 2024)

 

Unreal Engine Technical Designer – realworld one

  • Design VR experiences using a custom multiplayer platform running using Unreal Engine
  • Standardize, redesign and implement tools that could be used across hundreds of experiences
  • Create a standardized UI that automatically guided players in their tasks

 

Technical Designer – BUas

  • Co-Design of a rapid idea prototyping card game that requires no pre-defined cards or concepts to be used
  • Create a remote data collection plugin for Unreal Engine (C++)
  • Full-stack Unreal Engine developer on the EscapeTower project

 

Full Stack Developer – PERCRO Labs

  • Full stack developer for B2B applications. Applications ranged from helping children with autism in VR, to digitally preserve
    and exhibit cultural heritage

Personal Interests

Making games is my biggest passion, but not the only one. When I am not working, there’s quite a few things I love to do:

  • Adventure enthusiast. Attended and completed the Mongol Rally in 2017 and the Crazy Summer Rally 2021
  • Former Medieval re-enactor and fighter. I did 13 years of medieval sword fighting from the age of 14 to 27
  • Author of the “Mongol Rally Stories” eBook, available on Amazon. All revenues have been devolved to charity
  • Biker! I own and jealously maintain a 98′ Honda Shadow VT 600
